Who Am I?
Kristin Hanes is a journalist and writer who’s been working in the news media for 14 years. She worked as a radio news reporter up and down the West Coast, from KXL in Portland, to KOMO in Seattle, then finally to the iconic KGO Radio in San Francisco, where she worked for five years.
A couple of her favorite stories are covering Air Force One and President Barack Obama at San Francisco International Airport, and flying in a B-17 bomber over Seattle. She also loves human interest stories, such as meeting a 117-year old man in Oakland. Kristin also freelances and is good at news articles, blog posts and quirky, off-beat pieces. She’s been published in SF Gate, The Bold Italic and Mapquest’s Parachute.
She’s working on her first book, “Intentionally Homeless: How I Learned to Live with Less“, which she hopes inspires others to live frugally and get out of debt for good.
Kristin’s radio stories have appeared on ABC Network News, and she’s been interviewed by BBC World News. Her radio stories have won Associated Press awards[/fusion_li_item][fusion_li_item icon=”fa-star”]
